The Waiting
The waiting and hence the drama continues on some of our fronts. On the one hand, things are finally going smoothly with the actress we want for our thriller. We’re getting an L.O.I. from her and it seems the investors are all in place to get things going and for all I know, May is starting to become a hard date for us in terms of the shooting. That’s good.
However, our deal with the main producers on this one is not fully resolved yet and we need to get it going. That simple. That has us a little nervous as we don’t want to lose this title after everything we’ve been doing. The waiting is not healthy.
Then on the other front, we have our comedy in full re-group mode. We have fired our director, re-assessed our co-production structure and are waiting for information from contacts in Europe in terms of our re-structuring of the finance. It all still looks great, but we want to make sure we have the right elements. Again, waiting.
On our historical piece, also, things seem great and we are expecting a meeting with the European Media Company we were talking about earlier, BUT, we are still also expecting the confirmation. Once that happens, I will breathe a sigh of relief and we will be able to push through with everything, but until now, things are still in waiting mode.
We’re also almost there with the script we have worked on for our other project (Latin/Asian Thriller) and we have a tremendous, Cannes Festival highlighted writer on board, but we are still a week or 2 away from the re-write.
So we’re almost there on everything and yet one phrase comes to mind:
“So close yet so far away”.
